Okay... so, I have flooring issues.
My floors and my kids are the most popular issues for me to blog about.
So my life consists of...
My kids
and
Cleaning up after my kids.
Who says when you parent you have to be careful not to lose your identity???
Completely false! (wink, wink!)
I digress...
First, we talked about tile and grout issues. (I will say, Tracy's solution is what I'm going to try but first I have to be able to bend at the waist and not find myself stranded on the floor once I get down there. Timing... it's all about timing.)
Then we had the whole laminate flooring/ finish out situation. Resolved, thankfully, but nonetheless, something to blog about.
There has been discussion about the care and cleaning of above mentioned floors. I actually had a friend tell me this weekend that she bought these slippers. She said her son had a ball slipping and sliding all over the house and that she needed to add the time she wears them to her work out minutes. She kept finding her legs sore and could not figure out which exercise was so effective. Turns out, it's the cleaning of the floors in the microfiber slippers that's doing the trick!!! Two birds with one stone... I LOVE IT!!!
I haven't bought the slippers, nor have I tried Tracy's solution to the tile/grout issue... although I am intending to do both. I just don't think sliding around in slippers or on my hands and knees scrubbing grout is what I should be doing 8 months pregnant. Seriously... I could fall and not be able to get up. I don't have Medic-Alert. And worse, I could fall on one of my kids and squish them for life. I would never be able to live with myself. And then two of us would be stuck on the floor and unable to reach a phone for help. We might be there for hours, days even. We'd starve. And what would we do about bathroom issues??? No, sliding and scrubbing will have to wait for another time.
Again, I digress...
I HAVE, however, found another solution that I just have to share. Actually, Dayna found it and sent it to Nicole to help find a solution to cleaning laminate floors. I tried it this weekend and my floors are absolutely GORGEOUS!!! All you need is your Swiffer (or whatever tool you use that is similar), a microfiber wash cloth (attached to the Swiffer) and a 32 oz. spray bottle. Fill your spray bottle with 4 oz. distilled white vinegar and fill the rest with water... (umm, 32-4=28 oz. water). Spray a small area and mop with Swiffer/Microfiber cloth combo as you go. Ta-Da! Beautiful finish! No streaks! Dries almost instantly! And did you know the cleaning/sanitizing benefits of vinegar??? Goes way beyond salad, that's for sure!!!
Can you say CHEAP?!?!?!
So, head out to Dollar General, get your spray bottle, vinegar, and microfiber cloth, and spray and swipe away! SOOOOOO worth it!!! You'll love it!
BTW... I am way behind on all the fun stuff that's been going on here. We've been so busy having a great time, I haven't found the time to document it all. Fun Noteables on the way...

Great to know! I will try it!
I was told nothing but a damp cotton mop over our laminate when we bought the house but, the water alone, even very little, just leaves it kind of spotty looking. I'm sure the vinegar takes care of that! Thanks!
and if you do an olive oil treatment to your hair the same night you do the vinegar rinse on your floor... You will be craving Italian food for a week!!
Some people have cravings.... you have floor issues. Hee heeeee!!

I am so glad you told me about this! I tried it when I got home on Sunday and you are right, the floors look great! So relieved to finally have an easy way to clean these "no maintenance" laminate floors.:)
OK.. you just made me laugh out loud... I've fallen and I... giggle.
Do I need to come teach you how to get up when you fall down??? ;)
I wonder if it will work it you soaked the rag in vinegar/water and just mopped like that instead of spraying little by little. I will do a test and see.
