She's been singing it like that since she learned the song, atleast two years. I've tried to correct her but it never registered... until this morning. I corrected her while pointing to the alphabet chart. When she got to "yellow can 'o pee" and saw that she was actually supposed to say the letters instead, I saw the light bulb. A twinge of sadness flickered in my heart with that light bulb moment. She is, indeed, growing up. Sometimes, to my delight. Sometimes, to my devastation. Bittersweet... but precious, all the same.
