SNOW??? IN TEXAS???

As I type, it is 71* out and humid.

But 2 days ago, we woke to snow.

Real, flaky, snow.

And lots of it.

It was coming down thick (for southeast Texas), although it melted as soon as it hit the ground.

Some of it collected briefly on the vehicles.

And when you have lived in southern Texas all your life, you realize there really isn't a huge need for cold weather apparel. At our house, things like gloves and ear muffs and toboggans are more money than they are worth because it is entirely possible that we will get through the winter not wearing them even once.

After only a few minutes in the cold, wet snow, the kids needed more protection.... Check out what we used for gloves on Zman's hands.

(yes, those are his socks...)

Okay, so maybe it wasn't THICK snow and maybe there wasn't A LOT of it...

But it sure was a treat for this southern girl... and her kids!

I recognize that coat! :)
I keep a bag of all those cold weather things- but really, we only use them at Christmas in the Park or Santas Wonderland! It is kinda fun to bundle up once a year!
