Tracy is the expert. Or Liz - I simply aim and shoot - whatever comes out is an accident in and of itself. If it's a good pic - it's because I have cute kids, or possums or other random picture targets.
1. Use natural light as much as possible. Put her near a bright window and don't use the flash.
2. Get close. REAL close.
3. Take a BUNCH of pics.
