Sometimes they do listen...

Zman has been in a funk.

I guess he has gotten a little "soft" over the summer.

I keep hearing

"I don't want to do that."

"It might be hard."

"I might get hot."

"I might get tired."

and on and on...

I have been reminding him that God created us to have fellowship with Him but also to work. Even Adam had a job before the fall and that was a perfect world. And because of the fall, our work is hard.

Zman is having a hard time accepting this reality.

Work is hard.

Life is hard.

Sometimes, even "fun" is hard.

So, this morning at breakfast, I casually mentioned,

"You know, Zman, anything worth doing is going to be hard... at least at first.

And if it isn't hard, it probably isn't worth doing at all."

He never looked up from his cereal and I thought the comment breezed right by until

"You know, Mom, my bed is REALLY EASY to make."

And there you have it.

What more can I say???
