Wildlife Ranch

Yes... I know it is January.
Yes... I know I have not posted in a LONG time.
Yes, I know I have not been posting with any regularity AT ALL!!!
Yes, I know I am about to drive some of you absolutely INSANE!!!
But...
Over Thanksgiving (yes, Thanksgiving), we went to the Wildlife Ranch outside of New Braunsfels.
Zman really surprised me with his bravery.
Even though the signs are EVERYWHERE with the warning:
These are WILD ANIMALS.
DO NOT FEED FROM YOUR HANDS.
Zman refused to be intimidated by such overly protective statements.
(Can I just say he was in my lap and I was FREAKING OUT!!!)
But THIS is where we got our laughs!
Obviously, this guy has never been warned about the lack of manners in an ostrich.
This one tried to crawl in his truck with him but I was too busy laughing to get it on film.
And then we met our friend, Mr. Zebra.
He was quite friendly with Zman.
He wasn't finished eating and offered to come along for the ride.
(Notice the Zebra in the left hand corner. He wanted in on the good eats which ended in a bit of a tussle... right at our window. I yanked Zman in and rolled up the window at this point. I can only handle so much rule breaking with wild animals!)
He recovered from his WWF match and assured us it would not happen again.
Feeding could resume.
Then,
He followed us, promising all the while he and his friends would behave themselves.
I was not convinced.
And then we happened upon these two.
So sweet.
All the while, Hgirl sat in her daddy's lap
Afraid of EVERYTHING!
He could hardly roll the window down without her crawling up and over his head to get away.
Obviously this picture was taken in the cafe...
Far, far away from the free roaming wild animals.
And Sweet Pea was all smiles all along!

Such a sweet heart!

What an adventure!

Who knows... maybe you'll get Christmas pics before Spring Break!
I just might surprise you!!! ;-)
